RACE REPORT
The field got away at the first time of asking, and on settling down it was Noble Howard who made the play from Lady Flush and Isolator. Throughout the first half of the race this order was maintained, with Noble Howard forging ever further ahead. Rounding the final bend it was clear that nothing was going to trouble the leader who won in a canter by 3 lengths, with Fulminator some six lengths ahead of Idolator in third. |

FORMLINE:- The main newspaper of the day commented that Noble Howard led after 200 yards, was never headed and won in easy fashion. However, it went on to acknowledge that it was hardly in the same league as Split The Wind who avoided the race in favour of the Doncaster St Leger. In the end he did not take up that appointment. Noble Howard gave Fulminator 3lbs, but was receiving 14 lbs from Lady Flush. |
